Romanesque cardboard

In these works, the poetics of Romanesque architecture are imprinted onto cardboard constructions of familiar objects. Using modest, mass-produced materials as a commentary on the UK recession of the early 90s, the work questions prevailing value systems. The apertures in each piece highlight the 'interior' of the packaging, turning disposable material into a study of sacred space and structural language.
